Developed by Parsons’ Healthy Materials Lab, this series of four, self-paced online courses bring a consideration of human health to all aspects of design and building practices. The goal is to introduce students and practitioners to basic construction materials, their chemical makeup and the relationship to human health. We will then focus on how current and aspiring designers and architects can specify better building materials in their approach to future projects. These courses qualify for IDCEC (Interior Design Continuing Education Council) CEUs.
Timeline to Completion: Each of these self-guided short courses can be completed in two weeks. Students can complete each course at their own pace. Depending on the time available, all four courses can be completed in one or two semesters.
Enrollment Type: Noncredit
Number of Courses: 4 courses
Format: Online only
Course Sequence: Students are advised to take Materials and Human Health first and Executing a Healthier Project last.
