About This Certificate


Advance your career in the exciting rapidly growing field of User Experience (UX) design. Introducing a new certificate targeted on human-centered design for websites, mobile apps, and the latest emerging technologies that push the boundaries of possibility. Build a user’s satisfaction and interaction with a system, service or product, such as a website, web application, mobile application, by learning to improve the usability, accessibility, and desirability to offer a great User Experience. The UX process begins with the stage of research and discovery, followed by brainstorming for concepts and strategy, then a prototyping phase, and lastly user testing. This certificate will introduce you to the current industry tools and techniques used for UX and begins with a focus on research methods and information architecture. Through project-based learning work with the current tools, techniques, and methods employed by the industry, experiment and create world-class user experiences, design rich complex systems and champion new visions of the future.


Timeline to Completion: Courses last six to nine weeks. Students are advised to take one to two courses per semester. Certificates must be completed in two years, but many students finish in three semesters or one year.

Course Sequence: Students planning to complete the certificate are advised to take courses in the order listed, specifically Intro to UX: User Research Methods first Introduction to UX first and Usability Testing & Evaluation: How Is It Working? and UX/UI Portfolio last.
