Do you need to build your English proficiency in order to work as a professional chef or study local and global food issues? Designed in collaboration with the International Culinary Center (ICC), the ESL + Food Certificate provides high-quality English language instruction for students who want to attend culinary school at the ICC, obtain a degree in food studies at The New School, or choose another career path in the food industry.
Timeline to Completion: Flexible registration (start in the fall, spring, or summer term) and duration (one to four academic terms, requiring three months to two years). A placement exam is administered at the time of admission; duration is determined for each student on the basis of the program administrator's assessment of his or her needs.
