Study filmmaking in the world’s documentary capital. This full-time, intensive, one-year graduate program prepares students for employment in documentary media professions and culminates with a student documentary festival.
The Documentary Media Studies program at The New School provides an opportunity to study documentary filmmaking — production and theory — in a small, tightly focused program in New York City. This is a full-time, daytime intensive one-year curriculum. The program culminates in a student documentary festival, Truth Be Told, at the end of each school year, at which certificate students' films are publicly screened and discussed by the filmmakers and faculty.
