About This Certificate

Write a story for the big screen. Through a core sequence of screenwriting courses, students are guided in writing a full-length motion picture script, focusing on story, theme, character, action, dialogue, and visuals. This program is open to anyone aspiring to complete a professional-quality screenplay.

Timeline to Completion: Most students take two courses per semester, completing the certificate in one to two years.

Enrollment Type: Noncredit

Number of Courses: 6 required courses, including 2 electives

Format: The certificate can be completed online or through a combination of online and on-campus courses. (Selected courses are offered online only in the spring and fall terms.)

Course Sequence: Courses should be taken in the order they are listed, if a certificate is desired.
